Alexa Wehsener completed a think tank fellowship at the Council on Strategic Risks. After her fellowship, Alexa joined the State Department in the Office of Emerging Security Challenges in the Bureau for Arms Control, Deterrence and Stability as a Foreign Affairs Officer.
Previously, Alexa directed defense research and strategy at the Institute for Security and Technology, qualitatively red teamed large language models, consulted for family fund investment in AI ventures, and conducted and led research for the British American Information Security Council and the Nuclear Policy Working Group. Additionally, she was an inaugural fellow with the U.S.-India AI fellowship and Emerging Technologies Initiative and a Horizon Fellow at the Center for Strategic Risk. Alexa holds a masters in strategy, cybersecurity and technology from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a BA in political science from the University of California, Berkeley.
