Alexandra Bates completed a junior think tank fellowship at the Institute for Progress.
Previously, Alexandra served as an AI Policy and Communications Fellow at Constellation, where she led the Astra Fellowship, a research matching program for AI safety. She contributed to scaling law research at the University of Cambridge’s Krueger Lab and characterized neural network inductive biases. Alexandra also served as Co-Director of MIT AI Alignment and held multiple research positions at MIT, including at the Center for Brains, Minds, and Machines under Prof. Josh Tenenbaum and at the Center for Theoretical Physics. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Columbia University.
