Liz Specht is serving as a Fellow In Residence at Horizon.

 

Previously, Liz served as Senior Vice President of Science and Technology at the Good Food Institute, where she contributed significantly to analyses advancing the alternative protein sector. She has presented to diverse audiences ranging from scientific conferences to C-suite professionals and has advised research consortia and government agencies on alternative protein development strategies, focusing on technology forecasting and innovation translation. Her work has been instrumental in bridging scientific innovation with commercial applications in food technology, creating pathways for innovative protein solutions. Liz holds a Ph.D. in biological sciences from UC San Diego and a B.S. in chemical and biomolecular engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
