Rachel completed a fellowship at the Council on Strategic Risks. After her fellowship, Rachel joined the Bureau of Industry and Security as a Senior Advisor.
She focuses on the interaction between AI and synthetic biology, and she hopes to craft regulations that promote a vibrant biotechnology economy built around a strong safety framework. Previously, Rachel worked as a data scientist in the Silicon Valley biotech sector, where she used statistics and machine learning to develop vaccines and cancer therapeutics. She is also enthusiastic about STEM education and loves volunteering with science fairs. She holds a BSc in mathematics and and MSc in statistics from Stanford University.
