Byron Cohen

Bio Fellow, Executive Branch Track

Byron Cohen is an Executive Branch Fellow serving as Advisor for Interagency Research and Development Oversight in the White House Office of Pandemic Preparedness and Response Policy (OPPR).

 

Byron completed his PhD in Population Health Sciences from Harvard’s Department of Global Health and Population in July 2024. In his research, Byron used epidemiological models to evaluate interventions for early detection, prevention, and response to pandemics. As a PhD student, he worked as a research intern for the World Bank’s Development Impact Evaluation (DIME) unit on public health impact evaluations. Previously, Byron performed research on health system strengthening as part of the research team for Harvard’s India Health Systems Project. Byron earned an M.P.H. with First Class Honors from University College Dublin in 2017, where he studied as a Mitchell Scholar. He obtained his B.A. in Philosophy, Politics, & Economics from Claremont McKenna College in 2016, where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa.
