Michael Jacob completed an executive branch fellowship at the Bureau of Industry and Security. After his fellowship, Mike continued at the Bureau of Industry and Security as a Senior Advisor in the Office of the Undersecretary.
He began his career at the National Security Agency as an intelligence analyst in the area of nuclear counterproliferation. Mike has also worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company supporting public and private organizations in improving their governance and finance functions. Most recently, he worked at the MITRE Corporation, leading a MITRE Labs department that supports government sponsors in Geospatial Analytics R&D. Mike is currently a visiting fellow at the Council on Strategic Risks, researching export controls and their ability to mitigate converged AI and bio risks. He received a B.A. from Duke University and an M.A. from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
