Oluwatosin Akande is doing a think tank fellowship at the Brown University School of Public Health’s Pandemic Center.
Previously, Oluwatosin was a Technical Officer in the Health Emergencies Programme at the World Health Organization in Geneva, where she supported the Preparedness and Resilience for Emerging Threats (PRET) initiative and the Global Genomic Surveillance Strategy for Pathogens with Pandemic and Epidemic Potential. Before joining WHO, she served as an Assistant Director at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, where she led the Knowledge Management Unit, served as Lead Epidemiologist in the Genomics Unit, and contributed to the National COVID-19 Emergency Operations Centre. She is a board-certified Fellow in Public Health and Community Medicine and holds an MPH from the University of Liverpool and an MBBS from the University of Ilorin.
