Previously, Venkat served as Director of the Governance Panel at the Special Competitive Studies Project and worked on the House Select Committee on Strategic Competition Between the U.S. and the Chinese Communist Party, where he focused on open-source AI governance and developing cybersecurity standards to protect model IP. Prior to his policy work, he was at Meta where he analyzed their content-enforcement classifiers. He holds a degree in Economics from Macalester College.
