Krystin serves as a part-time Career Coach for the Horizon Institute for Public Service, advising emerging technology experts on transitioning into U.S. public service careers. In her primary role, she serves as the Deputy Director of Programs at the Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues at the U.S. Department of State. Prior to this role, she worked at the State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, most recently as the Team Lead for North Africa and the Sahel programs. She has worked on high-profile, complex, and sensitive U.S. programs including Plan Colombia; the Merida Initiative with Mexico; U.S. re-engagement with Burma; Afghanistan and Pakistan; and the Central American Regional Security Initiative. She has managed large teams and over $300 million of programmatic and personnel budgets in support of criminal justice sector reform projects in over one dozen countries, and she has experience integrating women’s advancement into assistance programming. Krystin is also a Government Career Coach at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, advising students from diverse personal and professional backgrounds on navigating the public sector workforce. Krystin is from New York City and has two children.
